How to Use the Dynasty Trade Calculator

Using this tool takes less than a minute. Follow these steps to evaluate any dynasty trade before you accept or counter.

  1. Pick your league format — toggle Standard or Superflex at the top. This changes QB values significantly.
  2. Search Team A players — type any NFL player name or "2025 Pick" in the Team A search box. Select from the dropdown.
  3. Search Team B players — add what you'd receive on the Team B side.
  4. Review player cards — each card shows the player's position, NFL team, age, and current dynasty value.
  5. Read the verdict — the center panel shows total values and whether the trade is Fair, a Win for Team A, or a Win for Team B.
  6. Share your trade — use the share button to send the trade comparison to your league mates.

A trade within 10% value difference is generally considered fair in dynasty leagues. Anything beyond 20% is a significant advantage for one side.

How Dynasty Trade Values Work

Dynasty values differ from redraft values because they account for long-term potential, age, and positional scarcity — not just this season's production.

Standard vs Superflex Values

In Standard leagues, only one QB starts, so quarterbacks carry moderate value similar to elite running backs. In Superflex leagues, a second QB can fill the flex spot, making elite quarterbacks the most valuable assets in dynasty — often worth more than any other position by a wide margin.

Age Curves by Position

Each position peaks and declines at different ages. Running backs peak early (ages 22–26) and decline sharply, making young RBs extremely valuable. Wide receivers peak later (24–29) and hold value longer. Quarterbacks in Superflex can maintain elite value well into their 30s due to positional scarcity.

Draft Pick Values

Dynasty draft picks represent unknown future players. Early first-round picks (1.01–1.04) carry elite value because they likely land on a top rookie. Mid-first picks are solid starters. Late firsts are depth pieces. Second and third-round picks have diminishing value but still matter in deep leagues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a dynasty trade calculator?
A dynasty trade calculator helps fantasy football managers compare the value of players and draft picks being traded. It assigns numerical values to each asset and determines whether a trade is fair, a win, or a loss for each side. Unlike redraft leagues, dynasty values weigh long-term upside and age heavily.
What is the difference between Standard and Superflex dynasty values?
In Standard leagues, quarterbacks have lower value because only one QB starts. In Superflex leagues, a second QB can start in the flex spot, making quarterbacks the most valuable position — often worth more than any other player. This makes elite QBs like top-5 picks in Superflex drafts.
How are dynasty player values calculated?
Dynasty values are based on a combination of age, current production, positional scarcity, contract situation, and long-term potential. Younger players with high upside are valued more than older veterans, even if the veteran performs better right now. Values are updated based on community consensus from millions of dynasty trades.
How much are dynasty draft picks worth?
Early first-round picks (1.01–1.03) are the most valuable and can equal elite veteran players. Mid and late first-round picks are worth solid starters. Second-round picks are depth players, and third-round picks have minimal value in most dynasty leagues. Pick value also depends on which team owns it and their expected record.
Should I trade veterans for draft picks in dynasty?
It depends on your team's contention window. If you are contending right now, keep veterans and trade picks for proven players. If rebuilding, sell aging veterans for draft capital and young players with upside. The trade calculator helps you ensure you're getting fair value in either direction regardless of your strategy.
What percentage difference makes a trade unfair?
Generally, a trade within 10% value difference is considered fair in dynasty leagues. A 10–20% difference favors one side but may still be accepted for positional need or roster construction reasons. Over 20% difference is a significant win for one team and most experienced dynasty managers would not accept it without a specific strategic reason.
Are these values updated regularly?
Player values in this calculator are based on current dynasty consensus rankings and are updated periodically to reflect injuries, performance changes, and market shifts. For the most real-time values during the season, always cross-reference with multiple dynasty community sources before completing a major trade.
